What It’s Like to Work With Me: A Trauma-Informed, Compassionate Approach

Choosing a Therapist

Choosing a therapist can feel overwhelming. There are so many options, and it’s important to find someone who has the right skills and feels like a good fit. If you’re wondering what it’s like to work with me, here’s a window into my approach.

Come As You Are

I’ve worked with people from all backgrounds, identities, and walks of life. Whether you’re processing years of trauma, navigating anxiety or depression, or simply trying to feel more like yourself again, you are welcome here. I primarily work with adults and teens (age 13 and up) who are ready for deeper, lasting change.

All sessions are held online, so you can meet from the comfort and privacy of your own space. Many clients find this not only convenient but surprisingly comfortable and personal.

What Clients Say

Clients often tell me that therapy with me feels calm and safe, like they can finally exhale. That is intentional. I bring a sense of deep presence and compassion to each session. With decades of mindfulness experience, I help clients access the part of themselves that isn’t overwhelmed by fear or thought.

This isn’t about forcing a technique. It’s about meeting you where you are. I listen closely to what you need and never push anything that doesn’t feel right. Whether we use a trauma-focused approach or mindfulness-based insight, this is your process, not mine.

Beyond Talk Therapy

Many people come to me after years of traditional talk therapy that didn’t help with trauma or emotional regulation. In my experience, focusing too much on the past or what’s “wrong” can sometimes keep people stuck there.

Therapy with me isn’t about endlessly analyzing old stories. It’s about freeing what’s stored in the body, shifting survival patterns, and reconnecting with your natural clarity and strength.

I don’t view my clients as broken. I see them as human. Therapy isn’t about fixing, it’s about remembering who you are beneath the pain.

Blending Science and Insight

I use a powerful combination of trauma-focused methods such as Accelerated Resolution Therapy (ART), Brainspotting, and EMDR, along with Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT) and mindfulness-based practices.

For some clients, that blend is exactly what they need. Others are drawn toward deeper reflection or spiritual exploration. If that interests you, we can include it. If not, that is completely fine. I will always respect your pace and your preferences.

Who Are You, Really?

At a certain point, therapy becomes more than symptom reduction. It becomes a journey of discovering who you are beyond your pain, your roles, and even your thoughts.

Who are you, really? What do you want your life to stand for? What legacy are you living?

You don’t need to have all the answers right now. If part of you feels ready for healing and for something deeper, that is already a meaningful beginning.
